DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - The Marcus Theater chain will acquire the closed Omnimax Theater at the DECC in Duluth. They will be converting the domed theater into an "Ultra Screen" auditorium. The company currently owns the adjacent ten screen Duluth Cinema. The new theater will feature a 70 foot wide screen that is over three stories tall and will show the latest Hollywood blockbusters in pristine, incredibly sharp images. The 39 thousand watt sound system will also create an exciting audio experience to match the large picture. Construction will begin shortly with a grand opening for the new "Ultra Screen" theater expected in late spring.
