DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - Former Duluthian Kara Goucher has registered to run in the USA Half Marathon Championships to be held on June 16th in Duluth as part of Grandma's Marathon weekend.  Goucher, 33, grew up in Duluth and graduated from Duluth East in 1996.  She now resides in Portland, Oregon and competed in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.  Goucher earned a spot in the 2012 Team USA marathon squad by placing in the top 3 at the Olympic Marathon trials in Houston on January 14th.  There are now 158 athletes signed up to compete in the Duluth Half Marathon Championships.
