MINNEAPOLIS (WSAU) Officials in Minnesota say plans for a high-speed train between the Twin Cities and Chicago have died, at least for the time being.

The High-Speed Rail Commission in the Gopher State blames Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, for rejecting federal stimulus money to build the stretch from Milwaukee to Madison. Still, Minnesota continues to work with the federal government to plan for possible routes in case the situation changes.

For now, rail advocates are focusing their attention on improving the current Amtrak passenger rail service.
