Several projects in northeastern Minnesota are included in the appropriations bill that funds national transportation and housing programs. The 67 billion dollar bill includes money for engineering and design of the proposed Northern Lights Express passenger rail service between the Twin Ports and Twin Cities. Congressman Jim Oberstar says the bill addresses national priorities in a financially sound manner and is expected to pass a vote today in the U-S House.
