Weatherization
A family who was passed over by Extreme Home Makeover and provides adult foster care in addition to caring for their three young children live in an 1888 home that was built on a solid foundation. The siding and windows have not aged as well and the heating bills are becoming a hardship. Lora is a recent brain cancer survivor.
Scope of work: Replace the windows and front porch area. Strip the siding, install rigid foam board and house wrap and apply new siding.
Approximate cost: Window replacement $10,000; Siding $4,000; Rebuild Porch $1,200. Lakeview Covenant Church and Mount of Olives are partnering to make this happen and will also raise funds.
