Let's Hide

I hate watching the news and hearing about troops dying.  I hate hearing about this Iran deal.  I hate seeing video of an escaped convict beating up a cop. 

I feel sometimes like I just want to go away and hide.  What would you choose?  Would you rather be in-the-know about all these news stories knowing you have to read or watch them, or would you rather not even know?  I'd choose the latter of the two.  Now I'm not saying I want to turn my head and ignore them....but I do.  Think about the guy that lives in rural America.....no TV, no newspaper delivered to his front door, no spam mail popping up in his inbox dogging the president and his cabinet.  He grows his own veggies, hunts, fishes, and takes care of his land, cattle, and small crops.  You may not think this happens much in today's world, but it does.

Think about our Canadian friends who live in the "sticks."  They're only news comes from Bob at the corner store who tells them he won't be carrying their favorite brand of mustard anymore and oh.....he'll be getting a shipment of new "10 year guaranteed" light bulbs....."supposed to be the newest gadgets out on the market” he says. 

Wouldn't it be nice to just have to worry about what you're going to make for dinner?  What will the temperature be tomorrow?  Who's building that new cabin over on Round Lake?  Sure you’d have bills, you’d have a home that needs improvement, you’d have stresses and worries….but not the crap that gets spit out in the news.  You certainly wouldn’t be worrying about whether your chicken has bird flu.

This may not be your kind of lifestyle, but it's not about the lifestyle, it's about not being subjected to all the crap we're spoon fed each day.....EVERY DAY!  I’m outta here……..who's comin' with me?  Let's move away, let's ditch the TV, let's go talk to Bob at the corner store........let's hide!
