Doritos Make Your Own Posted January 6, 2012 by Liz Lewis

Every year,Doritos holds a contest where fans submit 30-second commercials for a chance to have them aired during the Super Bowl.  The winners of this year's contest haven't been announced yet, but one of the rejected commercials (above) is pretty funny.

A Mother Shot and Killed an Intruder After asking 911 if it was Okay Posted January 5, 2012 by Liz Lewis

A Mother Shot and Killed an Intruder After Asking a 911 Operator Whether It Was Okay

(INFORMATION ON THE CASTLE DOCTRINE FOR MN and WI below!!!)

There's a crazy story out of Oklahoma about SELF-DEFENSE . . . and what you can do to protect your family inside your home.

--On New Year's Eve, 18-year-old Sarah McKinley of Blanchard, Oklahoma was home with her three-month-old son, MOURNING.  Her husband . . . the baby's father . . . had died of CANCER on Christmas.

--Suddenly, two men began trying to break into her house:  24-year-old Justin Martin, and 29-year-old Dustin Stewart.  And they had a 12-inch hunting knife.

--So Sarah grabbed her baby and locked herself in the bedroom.  But not before she grabbed her TWO GUNS . . . a 12-gauge shotgun and a pistol.  Then she called 911.

--She asked for help, and asked the dispatcher, quote, "I'm here by myself with my infant baby . . . I've got two guns in my hand.  Is it okay to shoot him if he comes in this door?"

--And the dispatcher basically gave her the green light:  Quote, "I can't tell you that you can do that, but you do what you have to do to protect your baby."

--So, when Martin kicked in the door to the bedroom and went at Sarah with a knife, she SHOT and KILLED HIM with the 12-gauge.

--The police have ruled it a justified shooting in self defense.  In a statement, they say, quote, "You're allowed to shoot an unauthorized person that is in your home.  The law provides you the remedy, and sanctions the use of deadly force."

--Sarah says, quote, "I wouldn't have done it, but it was my son.  It's not an easy decision to make, but I knew it was him or my son.  And it wasn't going to be my son.  There's nothing more dangerous than a woman with a child."

--After the shooting, the other guy took off, then turned himself into police.

--Interestingly enough, STEWART is going to be charged with Martin's murder.  Since he was participating in a felony that resulted in a death, even though Sarah is clear of murder charges, HE'S NOT.

INFORMATION ON THE CASTLE DOCTRINE FOR MN and WI

Minnesota:

  • Minnesota No duty to retreat before using deadly force to prevent a felony in one's place of abode; no duty to retreat before using deadly force in self defense in one's place of abode [38]) This isn't as clear as it appears, however. There are four cases in Minnesota where duty of retreat was upheld.[39]

Wisconsin:

Wisconsin "Castle Doctrine" bill, 2011 Assembly Bill 69, passed the Senate on Thursday, Nov 3, 2011 and the Assembly on Friday, Nov 4, 2011; Governor Scott Walker signed the bill on December 7,2011. The bill creates an automatic presumption of immunity for an act of self-defense for any person who uses deadly force while in his residence, motor vehicle, or place of business and is not engaged in illegal activity. The bill also limits civil liability when someone uses deadly force as outlined in the bill.

15 Things Women Like to do on Facebook! Posted December 7, 2011 by J.D.

Haha, these are so TRUE.

1. Take pictures of their feet.

This is what our feet look like!

2. Express their extreme annoyance at this work day today and hint that it deserves a much needed alcoholic beverage at the end of it. WINK WINK.

3. Thank their hubby for being the best hubby in the world while their hubby is sitting right next to them.

4. Complain about bad service at restaurants. “Never eating at Applebee’s AGAIN!”

5. Express their extreme excitement to see their best friends tonight, Brintney, Whitney, and Sarah!!! Love YOU GIRLS!!

6. Take pictures wearing a lot of makeup and looking really preppy while simultaneously making a “hard” facial expression and holding up what they consider to be a gangster sign. Potential caption: ‘Straight thuggin.’

7. Take pictures of undeserving food.

I effing love oatmeal!!! Mmmmmmm.

8. Make their status the song lyrics of any Kings of Leon Song.

9. Take a picture of someone they deem inferior to themselves in some way with the question: Really?

10. Write angry letters to companies (Dear EZ PARK, I hate you!), unorganized groups of people (Dear slutty freshmen who think that leggings can be worn as pants..), and non-entities (Dear unseasonably cold weather, WTF?!)

11. Subtly yell at no one in particular while being very specific. “Wow, it’s hard to believe that you think you know someone and then they turn around and STAB YOU IN THE BACK. Will never make that mistake again. EVER.”

12. Document exceedingly mundane activites for the day. “Getting my oil changed today. Then getting much needed groceries. Then it’s off to the post office to mail some bills. Then stopping by the gyno. Will probably need some gas by the end, so I may stop at the gas station. But I might be tired so I’ll probably just get it in the morning on my way to pick up a prescription. But if I’m not very tired I’ll probably just get the gas on the way home. Again, unless I am tired.”

13. Express their distaste for facebook on facebook and threaten to leave facebook to their facebook friends.

14. Ask seemingly redundant questions. “It’s cool to do a bunch of meth and babysit 20 six year olds, right?”

15. Write a status in another language. Parce que, Je suis tres intelligente!!
