You're Not Falling For That Are You? Posted November 15, 2006 by Johnny Lee Walker

Every day there's a new story about some college professor that conducted a study over the last three years, uncovering the greatest find in health history.  If you drink 5 sodas a day you'll get fat.  No s*%#!  Now this guy isn't a dummy, but did he think this was news?  Did I really need him to tell me that?  What's worse is that there are morons out there listening to this and saying, "Really?  I didn't know that."

When will we take responsibility for our own actions?  If you drink soda with every meal, you'll get fat.  If you smoke, you might get cancer or worse.  If you eat red meat 4 times a day with no vegetables, your arteries will clog and you'll have a heart attack.  If you sit for 9 hours a day and never exercise you'll have poor circulation improving the odds of having a stroke.  If you're stupid enough to not know that, you deserve to have a stroke and die.  You deserve to be fed through a tube.  It's nobody's responsibility to look out for you or to warn you about what YOU choose to put in your body.  Did you really think that Mr. Adkins' diet wouldn't have any side effects?  You thought you could eat all that crappy food as long as you cut out bread, rice, and pasta?

Today they tell you to not do something, and then the next day they tell you to do it, but only once a day.  I take it all for a grain of salt.  I have a brilliant idea and all I have is a high school diploma and another piece of paper I paid $9,000 for.  Try eating some vegetable, exercise a bit, and blame yourself when you look like you could have your own zip code.  If they tell you tomorrow that you can eat fructose corn syrup tablets 10 times a day as long as you spend 5 minutes a day trying to flip your eyelids, will you do it?  What if they tell you it’s healthier than drinking your 5 sodas a day?  You're not falling for that are you?
