Show me the shadow! Posted February 2, 2012 by Bryan Scott

Punxsutawney Phil emerged from his lair to “see” his shadow on Thursday, which means ... six more weeks of winter.

However, Sun Prairie’s version of Pennsylvania’s Punxsutawney Phil is predicting an early spring.

Jimmy the Groundhog did not see his shadow Thursday morning in Sun Prairie. And, according to legend, that means that there will be an early spring this year.

Who are you gonna believe?

Happy Groundhog Day!!!!

A Loved Ones Funeral or The Superbowl? Posted January 31, 2012 by Bryan Scott

Fifteen percent of American adults said they'd miss the birth of their child for the Super Bowl.

And 21 percent said they'd miss important work responsibility for the big game.

According to a survey of almost 3,000 adults (by CouponCabin.com), 20 percent said they'd miss a wedding of a close friend. And 19 percent said they would miss the funeral of a loved one.

Fifty-six percent of adults plan to watch the Super Bowl this year -- 67 percent men and 46 percent women. Of those who plan to watch, 47 percent said they will watch because they love the NFL, 37 percent said they will watch the game for the commercials and 33 percent will watch because it's fun to go to a Super Bowl party.

Thirty-seven percent said the Super Bowl is the best major sporting event, followed by the World Series at 9 percent and March Madness at 7 percent.

Superbowl commercials leaked! Posted January 31, 2012 by Bryan Scott

~~Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles recorded Hank Williams' "Your Cheatin' Heart" to be featured in a Pepsi Max Super Bowl XLVI commercial. The 30-second spot titled "Check-Out" is part of the brand's Cola Wars campaign and also features Regis Philbin

Honda has released Matthew Broderick's "Ferris Bueller" Super Bowl ad.

Broderick plays himself in the clip, but with plenty of "Bueller" references.

After calling in sick, Broderick takes off in the 2012 Honda CR-V (instead of Cameron's dad's 1961 Ferrari) for a day on the town, hitting up the beach, a parade and the Natural History museum as Yello's "Oh Yeah" plays in the background.

Honda explains in the clip's description on YouTube that they "hid over two dozen references to the movie throughout the commercial. Some are obvious, some are VERY subtle. See how many you can find."

Now you can control your tv...from the bathroom? Posted January 31, 2012 by Bryan Scott

LIFE IS GOOD!!!!

Travelers in about 500,000 hotel rooms across America can channel surf using their smartphones instead of a remote control.

LodgeNet -- the biggest provider of hotel room television entertainment -- created a free app that turns iPhones, iPads and Androids into remote controls.

The app also contains information about the hotel, local events, attractions, directions and restaurants.

About 2,000 hotels that carry LodgeNet's TV systems have been updated to accept the app's controls.

And if that's not good enough for you...try using it in the bathroom :)

A study found that three-fourths of Americans with mobile phones say they use them in the bathroom.

30 percent of men don't go to the bathroom without their mobile phone versus 20 percent of women.

Now, if there was only an app for flushing the toilet for all the germ-a-phobes!!!

An easy way to get your student loans paid off! Posted January 30, 2012 by Bryan Scott

Will you be MY Sugar momma and pay off my student loans? - Bry

A new website called www.SeekingArrangement.com, provides another option for college students that don’t want to wait on tables.

The site puts local college students in need of help with their tuition in touch with sugar daddies and sugar mammas for something called “sugar dating.”

Some daters seek friendship, others look for fun, but the relationships all have one thing in common -- money, and lots of it.  In fact, one dater on the site is looking for at least $10,000 to $20,000 per month.

The creator of the web site says that it’s not a site for prostitution because there is no guarantee of sex.

Get rewarded for sitting on your couch! Posted January 27, 2012 by Bryan Scott

Want to earn stuff by watching TV? There’s an app for that!!!

Viggle rewards viewers for watching shows – and the more shows the better.

When you tap the screen, Viggle's software listens to what's on, recognizes what you're watching and gives you credit at roughly two points per minute.

The app made its debut in Apple's app store yesterday. Versions for Android devices and computers are in the works.

Looks like it's time to sit back and start collecting free stuff :)

"LIKE" products and you could pay more! Posted January 24, 2012 by Bryan Scott

Online stores could soon start charging more for products you’ve "liked" online before.

One web entrepreneur says that 2012 will be 'the year of behavioral pricing' - a new type of e-commerce, where prices will be tweaked to include what customers are willing to pay.

Stores will use information from sources such as Facebook and Twitter to 'tweak' prices to what customers are willing to pay.

Um...time to start "UNLIKING" products!!!

Jim Carrey's daughter advances on American Idol Posted January 23, 2012 by Bryan Scott

Fox aired a special 'American Idol' after the NY Giants defeated the SF 49ers in their NFC Championship playoff game.

'Idol' was in San Diego on the USS Midway aircraft carrier.

Kicking off the show was 19-year-old Jennifer Diley-- dressed in stars-and-stripes bikini top and a pair of tiny shorts. She did NOT impress the judges with Jessica Simpson's "With You". Steven Tyler told her, "I think the voice lacks the fire that your get-up does." Despite her attempt to sing Mariah Carey's "Hero", she still got a "No".

The judges LOVED 26-year-old Ashley Robles, who covered Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You". All three judges agreed to send her to Hollywood.

Also getting a pass through were Jayrah Gibson and Aubree Dieckmeyer. Jayrah delivered a soulful rendition of Musiq Soulchild's "Just Friends", while Aubree sang Michael Buble's "Feeling Good".

Next to audition was Ali Shields, who got to "Idol" with the help of Ellen DeGeneres. Though she hit the sour note with her attempt at rapping, the 19-year-old redeemed herself by doing a few bars of Corinne Bailey Rae's "Just Like a Star" and got three "yes" from the judges.

Teen singer Kyle Crews impressed the judges with his version of Monica's "Angel of Mine". All three judges agreed that he was the best male voice of the day.

Also walking away with the golden ticket were Jim Carrey's daughter and Jason Hamlin. Jane got sent to Hollywood by singing "Something to Talk About".

Hamlin, who is nicknamed Wolf has to sing Johnny Cash's "Folsom Prison Blues", as well as Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Midnight Special".
